The International Institute of Cosmetology congratulates Shannon Swanson on receiving student of the month for our Wethersfield campus! Our educators described Shannon as very professional, and wonderful with clients.
Shannon decided to pursue a career in cosmetology because “there’s nothing better than a person being comfortable and confident in their own skin. Seeing a client’s eyes light up at the end of an appointment and knowing I helped contribute to that is a beautiful feeling.”
When it comes to classes at IIC, Shannon’s favorite thing to work on is color, saying, “I’ve particularly loved getting creative with formulating for my fiery redheads!”
After graduation Shannon is “excited to transition from assisting and learning from experienced and passionate stylists, to moving behind the chair full time.” Keep up the great work Shannon!
Congrats to Elisha Heinrich for being named student of the month this November at our Plainville campus! Our educators describe Elisha as always being respectful and happy to be there, as well as having a great rapport with clients!
On deciding to pursue cosmetology, Elisha says, “I’ve been cutting and coloring hair since I was 12, my mother went to beauty school and helped me learn,” and after a bad haircut Elisha has been cutting her own hair ever since, and further says that “I’m a very artistic person with a personality that gets along with anyone, and I like being the reason that someone feels good about themselves.”
Elisha is a very eager and ambitious student saying, “I literally love everything at school. Colors and cuts are fun because you have all the power in your hands, but my favorite thing is walk-ins.” Elisha loves connecting with clients, and how you never know who might sit in your chair.
After graduation Elisha plans to work in a salon to gain more experience before one day opening her own salon! We can’t wait to see what you do next, Elisha!
