✨What made you decide cosmetology & go to IIC?
The creative aspect persuaded me to cosmetology school. I have grown from buying products at Sally’s and doing bleached buzz cuts to shopping at Cosmo, in a salon and building my own clientele. My favorite part of completing a service is chatting with clients and getting to know them better. There’s no better feeling then seeing the look on a clients face when they love their hair. That is what truly keeps me going and inspires me to work harder.
✨My Ah Hah moments in school were (times you realized this is what you should be doing)?
The main ah hah moment in school was when a mom reach out through Facebook to book a color correction for her daughter. She was getting bullied in school for the color and state of her hair. I was able to chat with her and lighten her hair without compromising the integrity of the hair any further. She walked out that day with a whole new level of confidence. That’s when I knew I was where i needed to be.
✨Where do you see yourself when you finish school?
Once I finish school, I will be located at the Network Salon in Southington, CT. I have been working at this salon for over a year now at the desk and once licensed, will hopefully be moving to an assistant/stylist position. I see myself doing hair, building clientele, and furthering my education.
✨What advice would you give someone looking into Cosmetology school?
Show up everyday and most importantly do what you love. Enjoy the fast paced days where you’re booked out, give each service a chance, and take every opportunity to take a client.

✨What made you decide cosmetology & go to IIC?
Corinne decided on cosmetology because she always had a strong passion for hair growing up and after graduating college she realized this is the only career she could see herself falling in love with. Corinne chose IIC because of the constant opportunities for learning and growth given here.
✨My Ah Hah moments in school were (times you realized this is what you should be doing)?
I realized this is what I should be doing when I started gaining a good bit of blonde clients and became fascinated with the art of blonding. I started spending all of my free time outside of school on social media researching new techniques and methods and realized I truly was obsessed if I was spending all my time outside of school trying to better myself as a stylist.
✨Where do you see yourself when you finish school?
I will be working as a stylist at Trend Salon in Glastonbury in October, where I plans to continue my dedication to the art of blonding and expand knowledge in hair extensions to maximize opportunities in the industry.
✨What advice would you give someone looking into Cosmetology school?
Go for it even if you feel like it’s too late! I graduated from a D1 university with a bachelors degree and could’ve played it safe by staying in that field. I am so thankful that I followed my gut and chose to come to cosmetology school even if it was going to take hard work and dedication to make it happen.
