International Institute of Cosmetology graduation is a celebration of accomplishments and hours dedicated to learning fundamental techniques in Cosmetology. Since COVID-19 was still a factor, the graduation ceremony was held at the Plainville campus on Whiting Street. School partner Wella Companies gathered top artists to deliver virtual commencement speeches to the graduating class. A guest artist speech was delivered virtually by artist Philip Wolff.
On October 10th graduates arrived with family and friend to be greeted by educators and administrators.Once checked in, diplomas were handed out alongside gifts sent in by the Wella Company.
Ice Matters created a 4 foot tall ice sculpture was adorned in silver glitter showcasing the International Institute of Cosmetology’s logo. The sculpture was backlit creating a glowing effect.
On stage custom party balloons by Balloons Above flanked each side, making a festive backdrop for photos.
Event photographer Sean the Shark took several photos of graduates and their supporters.
On their way out, graduates and their guests received individual celebration cakes made by a local bakery in Plainville.

Every year a donation is made to an organization. This year IIC made a donation to the Jesse Lewis Choose Love.
School Dean Mark Anderson said, “This year’s graduation was a great event. It is always wonderful to see our graduates from the past year again, and speak with them about how all of their hard work during a particularly tough year is paying off for them in their new careers. We are also happy to donate on behalf of the graduates to the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement, an organization that is very much in line with IIC’s values.”
