IIC’s August 2026 Students of the Month

Congratulations to Sandy @hairby__sandy who is awarded International Institute of Cosmetology Plainville Campus’s student of the month!

✨What made you decide cosmetology & go to IIC?

I have always loved doing hair and making people feel good about themselves. I decided it was time to turn something I love into a career, and IIC felt like the right place to start my journey.

✨My Ah Hah moments in school were (times you realized this is what you should be doing)?

When I started seeing my work improve and realizing how much I actually enjoy making people feel beautiful. That is when I knew I was doing what I am supposed to be doing.

✨Where do you see yourself when you finish school?

I see myself working in a salon, building my clientele, and continuing to grow and learn as a stylist.

✨What advice would you give someone looking into Cosmetology school?

Go for it! Do not be afraid to start later in life. Practice, stay consistent, and do not give up on yourself.

I wanted to pursue a creative career. Doing hair gives me an opportunity to share my creativity with the world.

✨My Ah Hah moments in school were (times you realized this is what you should be doing)?

I realized this career was for me when I experienced clients boost in confidence after seeing their new looks.

✨Where do you see yourself when you finish school?

When I finish school I see myself at a salon that allows me to continue to build my confidence and clientele.

✨What advice would you give someone looking into Cosmetology school?

Do not miss too many hours. It is not worth it in the end having to make up all that is missed. As long as you stay focused on your goals everything will work out.
